Monero Stagenet Faucet

Requirements

  • monero-wallet-rpc

Setup

You'll need some parameters: (change as needed)

WALLET_FILE=~/Monero/wallets/stagenet-faucet
WALLET_PASSWORD=""
RPC_PORT=45148
RPC_AUTH=user:password

Tip: generate a random port with shuf -n1 -i 1024-65535
Tip: generate random credentials with openssl rand -base64 16

  1. Get a wallet for the faucet:

    flatpak run --command=monero-wallet-cli org.getmonero.Monero \
    --stagenet \
    --mnemonic-language English \
    --generate-new-wallet "$WALLET_FILE" \
    --password "$WALLET_PASSWORD" \
    address

    Provide a password as prompted. Or simply press Enter for no password.

  2. Start the RPC server:

    flatpak run --command=monero-wallet-rpc org.getmonero.Monero \
    --stagenet \
    --wallet-file "$WALLET_FILE" \
    --password "$WALLET_PASSWORD" \
    --rpc-login "$RPC_AUTH" \
    --rpc-bind-port $RPC_PORT
